“Human Prolactin: Some Historical Aspects and Contemporary Issues”

This presentation traced early controversies about the existence of prolactin in man, the story of its purification from human pituitary glands, and the development of a specific radioimmunoassay for measuring prolactin levels in human blood. In addition, selected clinical problems of hyperprolactinemia and prolactinomas encountered today were also discussed.
